About Marvin |
 | | Name: Juan Martin Miranda (Marvin) Age: 34 Years climbing: 18 Location: La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina I start climbing when I was 15, and that became my passion. I decided to study Physical Education (UNLP, the only degree study related to sport training in Argentina), then I made a trip to Spain where I specialized in sport climbing training in the Spanish High Mountain School (EEAM). | From those days I dedicated all my time to climbing, teaching climbing and training climbers from my country. Then in 2001 I traveled to Cuba to study Theory and Methodology of Training (ISCFMF), learning how to distribute and apply training loads in all levels athletes (the eastern methodology), so my thesis in Cuba was about climbing training. In 1999, with two friends built one of the biggest climbing gym in Argentina. There I developed some special methodology and exercises to increase climbing performance. That background allows me to start training elite and all level climbers in my country. Now I'm training online people from all over the world, including some national team members. I actually spend my time developing new training methodologies and applying them with my climbers, dictating climbing training seminars and works as a training advisor. Also work as a route setter in local comps My personal life is full linked with climbing, I have a wife, Silvina (psychologist and elite climber) and my son Agustin (Lautaro, my second son is coming on march/08). |
